What We Do
At CIDEAL Foundation, we carry out a double mission: we promote development projects primarily in Southern countries, and, at the same time, we work as a research centre specialising in development cooperation. Both tasks complement and provide feedback to each other.
Cooperation for Development
Since 1983, we have carried out development cooperation actions in more than 25 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia, and awareness and education initiatives in Spain.
We promote sustainable development and empowerment of communities and people in vulnerable environments.
We contribute to strengthening the capacities of civil society actors, public administrations and other development entities at the local level.
We promote applied research related to technological innovation through partnerships and alliances.
Our Development Education actions advocate for citizens to be aware of and committed to acting against the causes of poverty.
Research for Development
As a research centre specialising in development and international cooperation, we carry out extensive work:
We work in different research areas on cutting-edge topics connected to the international development agenda, which gives rise to an extensive editorial trajectory.
For 40 years, we have developed our courses and workshops and designed customised training actions in different areas of specialisation in collaboration with universities and research centres worldwide.
We develop different technical assistance activities linked to human and sustainable development with public and private entities and institutions in countries of the South.
